Will WorldSSP See a Repeat for Sofuoglu X5?

How the Kawasaki rider can take the crown again at Magny-Cours

Kenan Sofuoglu heads into the Fassi French Round with one thing on his mind; to win his fifth Supersport World Championship. And it is very possible that French fans will get to be present as the Turkish rider celebrates making history again.

The 32 year old is already the most successful WorldSSP rider in history and if he wins again at the Fassi French Round, he will set the bar even higher for his predecessors. Interestingly, if Sofuoglu is crowned this weekend, it will be the third time he has been crowned at Magny-Cours, making it his most successful circuit statistically.

If Sofuoglu wins the WorldSSP race on Sunday, he will be crowned FIM Supersport World Champion for 2016. Ideally, he will want to win so the victory is sweeter.

If teammate Randy Krummenacher finishes ahead of Sofugolu, there is a four-place leeway, which can still allow the Turkish rider to take the crown. For example, if Sofuoglu finishes in P14 on Sunday, he will still win the Championship as long as Krummenacher doesn’t finish better than P10. If Sofuoglu does not score points on Sunday and Krummenacher finishes between P15-P12, then Sofuoglu can still win the FIM Supersport World Championship.
